A Partner at KBRS, Jennifer is an experienced leader with a background in higher education, having held senior roles at institutions such as Memorial University, Western University, and Queen’s University. She has a strong commitment to community engagement and is passionate about the value of music education.

Welcome to The Katie Sullivan Instrument Library website! We are delighted to have you here and to share the heart of our mission with you. Music has the power to inspire, connect, and transform lives, and through this library, we aim to ensure that every student in NL schools, regardless of financial circumstances, can experience the profound joy and benefits of music education.
The work we do is a collective effort, made possible by the dedication of our team of volunteers, the generosity of our supporters, and the passion of the music educators with whom we partner. Behind the scenes, our dedicated Board of Directors provide the leadership and vision that guide our organization. Their diverse backgrounds and shared commitment to music education ensure that we remain focused on our mission and are equipped to meet our objectives.

Robert Decker
Director
Robert, a skilled realtor and former energy industry professional, brings his expertise in building relationships, attention to detail, and passion for community to our Board.

Rosellen Sullivan
Vice-Chair
A distinguished lawyer and community leader, Rosie brings extensive legal expertise and a commitment to equity, education, and justice to her role on our Board of Directors.

Kyle Massey
Co-Founder & Secretary-Treasurer
Kyle is an experienced educator and educational administrator with a passion for equity and inclusion in education. He is committed to fostering accessible and meaningful learning opportunities for all.

Dylan Maddix
Director
Dr. Maddix, a conductor, educator, and accomplished trumpeter, is a professor at Memorial University, where he shares his passion for instrumental music and community engagement with the next generation of musicians.

Andrea Rose
Director
Dr. Rose is a dedicated musician and educator with a lifelong commitment to advancing music education. As a former MUN professor and violinist with the NSO, she continues to inspire through initiatives such as The Singing Network and NSO outreach programming, fostering opportunity and engagement with music making.

William Massey
Director
William is a student at MUN pursuing a double degree in music and business. As a saxophonist, he performs with the MUN Wind Ensemble, MUN Jazz Band, and The Tide Quartet. William is also an active volunteer, serving as a mentor with Shallaway Youth Choir and as a basketball coach at a local school.

Heather McKinnon
Director
Heather is an experienced arts advocate and skilled operations manager. She brings a wealth of experience in board governance and a deep commitment to supporting the arts and community initiatives.

Katie Sullivan
Director
Katie, a dedicated music teacher in St. John’s and Principal Trumpet with the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra, has spent over 30 years inspiring young musicians. Her commitment to making music education accessible inspired the formation of the Instrument Library.

Our dedicated volunteers are the heart of The Katie Sullivan Instrument Library. Their passion, time, and expertise make it possible for us to provide students with access to quality instruments and ensure that music education is within reach for every child. Olivia Massey
Volunteer
Olivia is a music student at Memorial University, specializing in flute performance. She is a member of the Memorial University Wind Ensemble, the Royal Newfoundland Regiment Band, and a long-time member of Shallaway Youth Choir.

Greg Stamp
Volunteer
Greg is an active member of the St. John’s sports community, participating in hockey and softball leagues. Greg contributes to the Instrument Library by assisting with fundraising efforts, coordinating pickups and deliveries of instruments, and other general tasks.
