How the Instrument Library Works

Get Started: Borrowing an Instrument Made Simple

These are simple steps for music teachers in NL to borrow instruments from the Instrument Library.

If you are a student or a parent of a student in Newfoundland & Labrador who would benefit from the Instrument Library, please let your school’s music or band teacher know. Your teacher can contact us to arrange an instrument for your use.

STEP 1:
Log in or Register

A music teacher visits our website and logs in or creates a free account to get started. Once registered, they gain access to our resources and become valued partners in our mission to break financial barriers and support student participation in school music programs with free, high-quality instrument.

STEP 2:
Submit a Request

The teacher submits an instrument request using our online system, selecting an available instrument. Our streamlined process minimizes administrative work, helping teachers quickly and efficiently secure instruments so students can focus on learning, practicing, and performing music alongside their peers.

STEP 3:
Pick up Instrument

After the request is processed, the teacher can pick up the instrument at our St. John’s location. We have pick up times available throughout the day and evenings, including weekends, as we prioritize flexibility and convenience, ensuring teachers can access instruments without difficulty and that students receive their instruments as soon as possible.

STEP 4:
Return Instrument

At the end of the school year, the teacher returns the instrument to the library, where it undergoes inspection and maintenance. This ensures the instrument remains in top condition for future students, continuing the library’s goal of providing free, accessible instruments year after year.
