Katie Sullivan

Katie’s commitment to equity and inclusion

Katie Sullivan has long recognized the barriers many students face in accessing musical instruments and has consistently worked to ensure no child is excluded due to financial constraints. Her efforts to provide instruments for students in need, often through her own network, reflect a deep commitment to equity and inclusion in music education and inspired the creation of the Instrument Library.

Named in her honor, the library builds on Katie’s vision by offering a sustainable, community-supported resource that ensures students across Newfoundland and Labrador, regardless of financial background, can experience the joy and growth that music brings. It reflects her mission to nurture talent, spark creativity, and make music accessible to all.
