A Managing Partner at KBRS, Jennifer is an experienced leader with a background in higher education, having held senior roles at institutions such as Memorial University, Western University, and Queen’s University. She has a strong commitment to community engagement and is passionate about the value of music education.

Music has the power to inspire, connect, and transform lives, and through this library, we aim to ensure that every student in NL schools, regardless of financial circumstances, can experience the profound joy and benefits of music education.

The work we do is a collective effort, made possible by the dedication of our team of volunteers, the generosity of our supporters, and the passion of the music educators with whom we partner. Behind the scenes, our dedicated Board of Directors provide the leadership and vision that guide our organization. A distinguished lawyer and community leader, Rosie brings extensive legal expertise and a commitment to equity, education, and justice to her role on our Board of Directors.

Secretary-Treasurer
Kyle is an experienced educator and education leader. He serves on the boards of the Jimmy Pratt Foundation and Teachers on Wheels, and is also an active volunteer with other organizations in his community.

Laura Barron

Communications Officer
Laura is a seasoned communications strategist and CEO of econext, where she leads environmental innovation across NL. She brings valuable leadership to the library’s communications, brand development, and stakeholder engagement.

Robert Decker

Robert Decker

Director
Robert, a skilled realtor and former energy industry professional, brings his expertise in building relationships, attention to detail, and passion for community to our Board.

Dylan Maddix

Dylan Maddix

Director
Dr. Maddix is a conductor, educator, and trumpeter who serves as a professor at Memorial University, where he conducts the Wind Ensemble and Concert Winds. He is also the Artistic Director & Senior Orchestra Conductor of Calos.

Andrea Rose

Andrea Rose

Director
Dr. Rose is a dedicated musician and educator with a lifelong commitment to music education. A former MUN professor and NSO violinist, she continues to inspire through The Singing Network and NSO outreach, fostering opportunity and engagement in music.

William Massey

William Massey

Director
William is a student at MUN pursuing degrees in music and business. A saxophonist, he performs with the MUN Wind Ensemble, MUN Jazz Band, and The Tide Quartet. He also volunteers as a mentor with Shallaway Youth Choir and coaches basketball at a local school.

Heather McKinnon

Heather McKinnon

Director
Heather is an experienced arts advocate and skilled operations manager. She brings a wealth of experience in board governance and a deep commitment to supporting the arts and community initiatives.

Katie Sullivan

Katie Sullivan

Director
Katie, a dedicated music teacher in St. John’s and Principal Trumpet with the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra, has spent over 30 years inspiring young musicians. Her commitment to making music education accessible inspired the formation of the Instrument Library.

Olivia Massey

Director
Olivia is a flutist and student at Memorial University, studying music and political science. She performs with the MUN Wind Ensemble and the Royal Newfoundland Regiment Band.
